This session will build on the work you have done with Shopify and look at the major components of most ecommerce systems.

Questions for the session

What are the components for a simple shop?
Does changing these components affect the success of the shop?
What is visible to the customer and what is "behind the scenes"?
What additional components are needed for a larger retailer?
What systems are likely to exist already inside a retail company and how are these systems link?

We will go inside Shopify again to see some of these components and also look at some online stores to identify some of the visible components.

This session will be followed by an activity in which you will evaluate some behind the scenes components used to manage your Shopify store.
