Generating an instant traffic hit from StumbleUpon

You will have heard of the potential of social media sites such as Digg, Delicious and StumbleUpon but until you actually see the almost instantaneous response from being StumbledUpon it is hard to see what all the fuss is about.

I have an experimental site called The Market Quarter which allows me to try out ecommerce experiments for a real client; in this case some friends who run a French Food stall at Borough Market.

For today's experiment I researched and wrote an article 10 Great Recipe Ideas for Foie Gras and submitted it to StumbleUpon. Within 30 minutes 120 extra people had visited the site as can be seen from the graph below.
